A DUI is Ruining My Life
Several months ago, I messed up and earned myself a DUI (driving under the influence). What I did was wrong, and I am not making any excuses. However, guilty as I may be, the punishment has been brutal. This thing has flat out ruined my life.
After my mandatory stay in the big house, I quickly realized I would not be able to keep my job because I can not get back and forth. Public transportation does not exist since I don’t live in a big city. And getting a taxi every day to go thirty some miles each way would make it not worth it anyway.
No job means no income. My money ran out faster than I thought it would. Frankly, the legal stuff pretty well wiped me out anyway. And none of the businesses near my apartment are hiring. I am literally to the point of selling things that I don’t absolutely need.
A perfect example is my motorcycle; that’s not exactly something I need since I no longer have a driver’s license. And what icing that cake had: I can’t drive to a California notary to get the title notarized! I actually had to find a notary who was a mobile notary so she could come to my apartment and stamp the title so I could turn my bike into cash.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Unfortunately the DUI laws in this country are extremely tough and getting tougher all the time. It doesn’t matter even if you only had a couple of drinks at dinner and got stopped on your way home and the preliminary breath test registered a .07% by the time the police get you to the station, your BAC is over the legal limit and you are instantly treated like a hardened criminal for years to come.
The sad fact of the matter is that countless people in this country get arrested every year and charged with DUI even in when those people are in a scenario like I pointed out above.
Good honest people, like yourself suddenly have their lives turned upside down because of a little mistake. That is the really criminal part in this thing.
Its really ridiculous to treat brutally for driving mistakes. You should have given a chance to clear your driving issues.
